My Thiruonam....

My Thiruonam!!!

I was waiting for an auspicious day to start my blog! And can it be a better day than Onam.. I don’t think so. So let this be the start of my official blogging!! Please wish me luck. Thank you..
The story starts one day before Thiruonam : I came running from college the day before Onam (Uthradam) hoping to see all the movies and a delicious lunch. Came home and messaged my cousin if he is joining me for lunch. He happily obliged and I was waiting watching tv dreaming about my Onam special lunch and the dessert after that. There were two very very good movies in tv , Malayalam dubbing of Dasavatharam and a movie by name Malabar wedding! A gift of the cable tv network to me! I was watching the movies in the hope that my cousin cherian will call me and me, him and our friend Jose can go for lunch. I kept waiting waiting and the call never came. The hunger in me started to call loudly and I phoned Cherian to see if he still remembers about the lunch. He asks me to come to Kairali Resturant by 3.30 pm and I went there. We were having heated discussions about what to eat and rounded at chor (Rice) which I was dreaming from 12 o clock and Fish fry, we asked the waiter for what all fishes were there and he said karimeen, mathi, ayala, neyimeen !! Each one ordered one unique fish and rice. And as per my luck goes there was no chor and only fish!! I was trying to tell my hunger that it can be expected as there was Chatan (A unique form of bad luck which is only seen in the central part of Kerala) Cherian was with me and had to eat Porotta and egg!! I was reasonably happy as the bill was paid by Jose!

D – day Onam : I took a leave from college to watch all the movies and enjoy the day. I woke up at 8.30 and me and my roommate Kiran were having heated discussions about were to put the pookalam! The discussion went on and on and Kiran went to his aunt’s house for Celebrating Onam. I was teasing him that he will miss the part of the movie as he will have to travel for one hour. As soon as he went out, the power also went out!! I sat thinking of all my luck and started calling people to wish them. Lot of my friends were very amused to get a call from me as It was for the last Onam which I called them the last time. But I felt very happy about the power cut as I could talk to lot of my friends. I waited waited and the current came after 2 hours and I was able to see the climax scene and the names of the crew of the movie!! I was not feeling to have Onasadya as I had a heavy breakfast. By 2 I remembered that I had kept some cloths for soaking yesterday afternoon and I washed them and went up to hang then for drying. As soon as I came back to the room and turned on the tv, I heard a sound and opened the door to see that it was pouring outside. I again smiled and slowly went up to get the cloths, I could see the cloths also smiling at me (Inspired by the great movie “Jaane Tu” I guess) !! And as soon as I came in again the power also went. I again started to smile and sat down thinking what to do! I got this idea of writing a blog as I was very inspired about the fact that my cousin Cherian has started to write them recently. And also all great people have started to write blogs and its a status symbol also!! Also I can add this to my hobbies in my resume. I started to write this blog in MS word and then to copy it to blogspot. Current came agonisingly close two times and shaded away. But I should admit that the current has come now and I can post it to blog spot and enjoy the movies. Hopefully my remaining 9 hours of this thiruonam will be better and I wont have to write a blog, My Thiruonam continued...
I have learned two morals of the story today:
1. Don’t bunk classes.
2. Wash the cloths one hour after they are kept for soaking.
